Technical Tip: L2 Poll Failures when devices have lost contact

Description

 
This article describes an issue with L2 Poll failure when devices have lost contact with FortiNAC.
If Contact Status = Lost (unable to ping), L2 polls are still attempted. This generates L2 Poll Failure events.


Scope

 

FortiNAC.

 

Solution

 
Address the communication issue. 
If the device is no longer needed, delete the model from Topology.

Workaround: To stop the events from generating, disable L2 Polling on the affected model.
