Technical Tip: Enable support for static MAC address on switch ports (sticky MAC address)

Description

 

This article describes how to enable support for static MAC addresses (also known as sticky MAC address) configured on specific ports on a network switch.

 

Scope

 

FortiNAC.

Solution

 

  1. Login to FNAC Admin UI and go to Network Devices -> Topology.

  2. Select the switch to enable support for static MAC address (sticky MAC address) in the destination wanted.

  3. Select 'Model Configuration'.

  4. Make sure 'Secure Ports is enabled for ports on this device(s).' is checked and select 'Save'.

  5. Manually trigger L2 polling and re-sync interfaces on the switch.
