Description This article describes the behavior where the error 'Unable to scan' is presented after downloading the Dissolvable Agent and running a scan.

Solution

Troubleshooting.

 

  1. Look for special characters or spaces in scan label values or custom scans.
  2. Collect Dissolvable Agent debug. For instructions see related article Enable Windows Dissolvable Agent debug logging.
  3.  Review %TEMP%\csalog.tx.

 

Look for the following lines:

 

Error, line: 1772 msg=An exception occurred! Type:TranscodingException, Message:Unicode char 0xC3 is not representable in encoding US-ASCII

 

Workaround:

  • Ensure Label values are within the US ASCII Character Set.
  • Replace any spaces with "-".

 

Otherwise, scan results will not be sent.

 

 

Solution:
