Technical Tip: Devices unable to register using Google Authentication
Description
This article describes how to fix an issue with Device registration when using Google Authentication.
After entering login credentials, the login box disappears but the device does not register.
Scope
FortiNAC.
Solution
Certain domains must be able to be reached from the isolation network for Google Authentication to complete.
- Ensure all the proper domains are added to the Allowed Domains List. For a list of domains required for Google Authentication, refer to the related Cookbook recipe under the Resources section.
- Ensure traffic to these domains is not blocked from the isolation network.
Workaround: If using Chrome as a browser, selecting 'Request Desktop site' or 'Desktop Site' may allow the device to register.

Figure 1. Select "Desktop Site" in Google Chrome settings.
This will trigger the smartphone/tablet to mimic the functionality of a desktop computer.
