Technical Tip: Captive Portal down after running Virtual Machine backups

Description

This article describes that when redirected to Captive Portal, page displays an error.  Behavior started after running a virtual machine backup.  VM console shows a quiesce error occurred during the backup.

Solution

Workaround: 

Shut down management processes and reboot appliances.  For instructions see related KB articles below.

Solution: 

Many backup software packages have an option to "quiesce the virtual machine's hard drives."  Set this parameter to false or disabled.  Refer to related KB article below.
