Technical Tip: 802.1x Auto Registration does not associate User to Host due to invalid MAC address
Description
Endpoint successfully registers via 802.1x auto registration, but the user is not associated to the host record ("registered to" field is blank).
This will occur if the endpoint has an invalid (private) MAC address.
Solution
Workaround: Disable valid MAC address check via the CLI. The MAC address (physical address) considered invalid will be ignored and the Host record will be registered to the user. Contact Support for assistance.
