Technical Note: Unable to connect to Hyper-V appliance

Description
This article discusses the behaviour where connectivity is lost to either eth0 or eth1 on a Hyper-V appliance.  
 
Scope
Appliances installed on Hyper V platforms.
 
Solution
Workaround:  Restart the network interfaces to clear the condition.
 
1) Reload the vlaninterfaces file. Type
service bsc-network restart
 
2) Restart network service. Type
service network restart
 
Configure the interface for non-legacy mode. Refer to the Hyper-V Virtual Machine Installation Guide for instructions.
