Description
Network Sentry Wireless Management Issues with ArubaOS 8

Scope
Version:   Network Sentry 8, ArubaOS 8
Solution
Version:  Network Sentry 8, ArubaOS 8

Issue:  Management issues with Network Sentry 8.x and ArubaOS 8 (Aruba controllers running 8.x firmware) involving functions requiring the use of blacklisting.  Symptoms may vary depending upon the options enabled within the controller's Model Configuration.

Symptom 1:  Hosts deleted from Network Sentry are unable to re-connect to the network.

Affects all ArubaOS 8 integrations except those Model Configurations with Operational Mode set to "L3 Role Only".

Symptom 2:  Hosts unable to re-connect to the network after Network Sentry attempts to change network access (such as moving a host to production after registering).

Affects ArubaOS 8 integrations using one of the following Model Configuration settings:
  • Operational Mode "L2 Roles with VLANs" and "enable rfc5176" checkbox de-selected
  • Operational Mode "L2 VLANs Only" and "enable rfc5176" checkbox de-selected

To verify the current Model Configuration settings, navigate to Network Devices > Topology.  Right-click on the controller model to select the Model Configuration.

Workaround:  Customers currently running ArubaOS 8 should Contact Support for a fix.

Solution:  To be addressed in a future Network Sentry release.
