Technical Note: Cisco WLC Port Channel not classified as Learned Uplink

Description
Port channel connected between Cisco switch and Cisco WLC is not being tagged as a Learned Uplink.  All wireless clients connected to the controller's WLANs as well as the controller itself show up as hosts/adapters.


Example: 
Po40 port channel is comprised of two interfaces (Te1/5 and Te2/5) as a Port Aggregate Uplink. Both Te1/5 and Te2/5 are classified as a Port Aggregate Uplink but Po40 port channel is not.


Cisco switch port channel interface support was added in version 8.8.1 (ID 0588911).

Version: 8.8.1 and above

Solution
Workaround:  Manually set port channel to "Always an Uplink" in the port Properties View.  For instructions, refer to the appropriate link below:
