Description This Article Describes how to configure SNMP traps receiver so that you can ensure traps are received and alerted upon even if your primary OnSight is not reachable.
Scope FortiMonitor
Solution

Configure the FortiMonitor OnSights to be in a HA group.

It is then possible to choose a DNS name and set it to round-robin internally to the OnSights.

Configure the devices to send the trap data to that DNS endpoint.

All the OnSights in the HA group will sync the Trap filter rules between themselves, similar to the polling for SNMP.

Once any of the OnSights receive the approved trap, an incident will be generated.
