Technical Tip: Ensure traps from SNMP devices are received even when Primary OnSight is shut down or is not reachable

| Solution | Configure the FortiMonitor OnSights to be in a HA group.
It is then possible to choose a DNS name and set it to round-robin internally to the OnSights.
Configure the devices to send the trap data to that DNS endpoint. All the OnSights in the HA group will sync the Trap filter rules between themselves, similar to the polling for SNMP.
Once any of the OnSights receive the approved trap, an incident will be generated. |
