Description

This article describes how to troubleshoot when a FortiExtender is not appearing in Extender Manager in FortiManager after it has been authorized in FortiGate.

Solution
  1. Verify the compatibility of the products:

If the version or platform is not compatible, identify the compatible version and plan the upgrade to resolve the issue.

  1. Isolate the issue by figuring out where the configuration is missing.
  • Verify in FortiGate that the FortiExtender has been authorized and online.
  • Verify the configuration is seen in FortiGate CLI.
  • In FortiManager, verify if the same configuration is visible in Revision History and Device Manager.
  1. After verifying, check on the FortiManager side for the ADOM version, as the ADOM version is important in accommodating FortiOS syntax.
  • Some FortiExtender models are only compatible with certain versions of FortiOS; ensure that the ADOM version is at least the same or higher than the managed FortiGate
