Description

This article describes how to set the FortiManager/FortiGate communication protocol keep alive interval.

Scope FortiManager.
Solution
  1. By default, FortiManager updates the managed FortiGate status via the keep-alive interval. Users can manually set the FortiManager/FortiGate communication protocol (fgfm) via the below FortiManager  CLI command:

FMG# config system dm

FMG# set fgfm_keepalive_itvl <integer in seconds> (30 - 600, default = 120).

FMG# end

  1. Apart from retrieving managed FortiGate status through the keep alive interval, the user will be able to instantly retrieve the managed FortiGate status by using the 'Refresh Device' option in Device Manager: Device Manager -> Right-click on the managed FortiGate -> Refresh Device.
