Troubleshooting Tip: FortiManager is showing inconsistent device vulnerabilities after an upgrade to v7.6.6

Description

This article describes the inconsistent Vulnerability information shown in FortiManager 7.6.6 Device Manager for identical FortiGates models running the same FortiOS version.

Scope

FortiManager v7.6.6.

Solution

After a FortiManager upgrade to version 7.6.6, not all vulnerabilities are shown for FortiGates running FortiOS v7.4.

Below, for the same FortiGate Model (100F in this example), running the same FortiOS version shows different levels of Vulnerabilities (Low vs Critical):

This is being investigated internally. Until a permanent fix is introduced, the following workaround can be applied on the FortiManager CLI: 

FortiManager # diagnose dvm psirt reset 

After the workaround has been applied, both FortiGates will show the same level of Vulnerability:
