Troubleshooting Tip: FortiManager did not initiate a firmware upgrade for a FortiGate (offline)

1. FortiGate is in offline state:

Proceed to configure FortiManager firmware template to perform daily upgrade from 0000-0600.

2. FortiManager firmware template scheduled upgrade window begins:

• FortiManager does attempt to upgrade FortiGate.
• This is expected behavior because FortiGate is still in an offline state.

3. Proceed to power on FortiGate:

• FortiManager does not initiate to upgrade the FortiGate despite being online during the scheduled frame.
• No upgrade-related activity is recorded in the Task Monitor (System settings -> Task Monitor).

4. FortiManager will only attempt to upgrade the FortiGate on the next scheduled upgrade window.

In this case, FortiManager will attempt to upgrade FortiGate firmware on the next day at 0000hrs.
