Description This article describes the issue where a device is not listed in FortiManager Install Wizard when trying to install device settings only. This issue usually arises when the device level settings are synchronized between FortiManager and FortiGate and there is no change to be pushed to managed FortiGate. The article provides a solution to resolve this issue.
Scope FortiManager, FortiGate.
Solution

Make sure to select the device and go to System -> FortiGate -> Device Settings. Then make a trivial device level config change, like changing the admin timeout for this managed device. The config status will change to 'Modified' state and the managed device should be listed in the Install Wizard when trying to install device settings only.

  1. Select the device.
  2. Go to System -> FortiGate -> Device Settings.
  3. Make a trivial device-level config change, like changing the admin timeout for this managed device.
  4. The config status will change to 'Modified' state.
  5. The managed device should be listed in the Install Wizard when trying to install device settings only.
