Technical Tip: What does a FortiManager refresh in FortiGate

Description

This article describes what the option 'Refresh' (located in FortiManager -> Device manager -> Managed Devices) does in FortiGate.

Solution

It is easy to see what FortiManager does in FortiGate, if the following command is run on FortiGate CLI:

diagnose debug cli 8
diagnose debug enable

The FortiGate CLI shows the following information is fetched by FortiManager:

get sys status
diagnose sys ha checksum autoscale-cluster
diagnose sys ha autoscale-peers
get system interface
get system interface physical
get hardware status
get mgmt-data status
diagnose test update info contract
