Technical Tip: Test connectivity 'Cannot connect to Server' in FortiManager integrated with FortiAuthenticator RADIUS

Description

This article describes how to resolve the error message: 'Cannot connect to Server' by using 'Test Connectivity' to test the connectivity with the RADIUS server.

Scope

FortiManager v7.4, FortiAuthenticator v6.6.

Solution

In FortiManager, go to System Settings -> Remote Authentication Server. -> Create New 'RADIUS Server'.

Select 'Test Connectivity' to test the connectivity with the RADIUS server.
The error message: 'Cannot connect to Server' appears.

In FortiAuthenticator, go to System -> Network -> Interfaces -> Select interface and select Edit.

The Edit Network Interface window opens. In Access Rights -> Services, ensure 'RADIUS Auth (UDP/1812)' is enabled.

After the 'RADIUS Auth (UDP/1812)' was changed to be enabled, on the FortiManager side, select 'Test Connectivity'.
The connection status is successful.
