Technical Tip: Security profile group behavior when installing to FortiSASE via FortiManager

Description

 

This article describes the behavior of Security Profiles installed to FortiSASE via FortiManager.

 

Scope

 

FortiManager, FortiSASE.

 

Solution

 

In the current design for central-management between FortiManager and FortiSASE, Security Profiles only install as a Security Profile Group and not as individual profiles, such as Web Filter or Application Control.

When installing the value changes from the Security Profiles, they will be installed as a whole Security Profile Group, including changes to the URL filter.

 

Examples:

 

Adding a new URL for the urlfilter to allow and use in the Web Filter profile:

The install preview will list all entries related to the Web Filter profile values and Application Control.

After successfully installing them, proceed to view the changes in FortiSASE to see them reflected under Security -> Security Profiles -> Profiles -> Change the Profile Group.

The next installation will still show the previous changes in the install preview and will install again.
