Description

This article describes how to use the 'Check License' option to optimize the display of the FortiGuard License Status widget on the FortiManager GUI if some license types are no longer relevant.

This is to ensure that only contract types relevant to a user are considered by FortiManager when determining whether a FortiGate is properly licensed.

Scope

FortiManager.

Solution

On the FortiGuard License Status widget on FortiManager GUI -> Dashboard, it will show the license status of the managed FortiGates.

If some of the license types on the FortiGates are no longer relevant, the user can modify the 'Check License' option to optimize the display, to exclude the checking for those unchecked license types.

The 'Check License' option can be modified from FortiManager GUI -> FortiGuard -> Device Licenses -> 'Check License' button at the top.

An example:

There is a contract 'Industrial DB' which was no longer relevant, but was causing the FortiGate to show as expired on the FortiGuard License Status widget on the FortiManager

GUI:

After unchecking the 'Industrial DB' from Check License Option, the license status will become 'valid' for the FortiGate.
