Technical Tip: How to enable FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer VMware ESXi instance to support more than 8x CPU

Description

 

This article describes how to enable FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer VMware ESXi instance to support more than 8x CPU cores.

 

Scope

 

FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer VMware ESXi only.

 

Solution

 

1) Shut down the current running instance via GUI or CLI command  '# exe shutdown'.

2) Once the instance is shut down, select the instance and 'right-click' to select  Upgrade VM Compatibility to upgrade to the latest ESXi virtual machine that is supported, e.g. 6.7.

3) After step (2), select the same instance 'right-click' to select Edit Settings and right now it is possible to see the CPU count that allows to select up to 8 cores or more.
