Technical Tip: How to create an 'Event Handler'

This article describes how to create an Event Handler for FortiGate to FortiManager connection failures i.e. when the FGFM tunnel is down.
Solution
Configure an Email Server.
- Configure the SMTP server and test it. Go to System Setting -> Advanced -> Mail Server.
- Avoid using spaces in the name, 'SMTP'.
- Then validate the SMTP setting using the 'Test Mail Server' option.
A success message appears.
- Create an Event. Go to Incident and Event -> Event Handler List and select 'Create New'.
- Enable Email notification.
To: Sender email address.
From: receiver email address.
Subject: As per Event.
Email Server: Company email server.
From: receiver email address.
Subject: As per Event.
Email Server: Company email server.
