Technical Tip: How to collect 'execute tac report' output from the GUI of FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer

Description

This article explains how to download the 'execute tac report' output (FortiCare Debug Report) via the FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer GUI.

Scope

FortiManager/FortiAnalyzer v7.4.3 and above.

Solution

From any GUI page, select the Online Help (?) icon in the top-right corner, then select FortiCare Debug Report:

Generating the report may take a few minutes, depending on the load of the unit and the length of the crashlog/klog.

Once done, the file is downloaded automatically, or a 'save file to' prompt may appear, depending on the browser settings.

Note:

1. From v7.6.3, the FortiCare Debug Report also includes the Apache server logs at the end.
2. The Cloud report for FortiManager or FortiAnalyzer can be accessed by selecting the user name on the top right.
