This article explains how to change an already added logging device to a managed device on the FortiManager.
Solution
If a device is already added as a logging device on the FortiManager, it cannot be added as a managed device directly. An attempt to add the device will result in a serial number already exists message.
The solution is to first to delete the device from the FortiManager. Once it is been deleted it can be added again as a managed device, which would also be added as a logging device.
