Description This article describes how to verify which file filter configuration is blocking email attachments.
Scope FortiMail, FortiMail Cloud.
Solution

From the FortiMail cross-search log there is a file that is quarantined due to an attachment filter.

  1. Find the 'attachment scan rule': in the FortiMail log message column:

  1. The word after 'attachment scan rule: blockZipFile' is the actual file filter configuration that caused the issue.
  2. Go to Profile -> Content -> File Filter, and find blockZipFile to verify the attachment extension configured.

  1. To avoid the same file extension being quarantined, disable the fil filter configuration in the content profile.
