Technical Tip: Modifying email report sender email ID

This article describes how to modify the 'from address'.
FortiMail is configured by default to send the email report with the 'from address' as 'postmaster@localdomainname'.
Scope
FortiMail.
Solution
In this example the local domain on the FortiMail is dom1b.com.
When a report is generated it will be delivered to the notification email address with a 'from address' of 'postmaster@dom1b.com'.
The 'from address' can be modified to use 'fortimail_report@dom1b.com' by making changes to the 'Email statistics report template' as shown below.
In GUI, go to System -> Customization -> Custom Email Template -> To edit a template, select it and select Edit.
Select 'email statistics report'.
Once these changes are applied the generated report will now be delivered from 'fortimail_report@dom1b.com'.
