Technical Tip: How to use the FortiMail DLP to detect credit card numbers in email body

To enable the DLP feature in FortiMail, run the below command:

config system global

    set data-loss-prevention enable

end

Below are the steps on how to configure the DLP to catch email with the Credit Card number:

1. Under Data Loss Prevention -> Rule & Profile -> Rule, select 'Create new rule' and add new condition as below

2. Create a new DLP profile, under Data Loss Prevention -> Rule & Profile -> Profile, select 'Create new', add the scan rule configured previously, and configure the desired action for this DLP.

3. Add the DLP profile to the Recipient Policy:
