Technical Tip: How to remove specific headers from email headers

This article describes how to remove specific headers from email headers.

FortiMail v7.0.+, v7.2.+, v7.4.+, v7.6.+, On-premise, Cloud.

1. Before, configuring the FortiMail to remove specific headers from the email header, below is the email header sample:

2. In this case, FortiMail will be configured to remove the header 'Message-Id'.
3. Go to the session profile currently used.
4. Go to Header Manipulation to enable 'Remove headers'.
5. Select 'Edit'.

6. Add the header to remove here.

7. Below is the result, the header 'Message-Id' has been removed.
