Description

This article describes how to filter emails with emoticons in an email subject. Emoticons are usually not part of business communication and can be used by spammers for social purposes.
Scope FortiMail 6.4.x, 7.2.x, 7.4.x, 7.6.x.
Solution
  1. Create (or modify) a new Dictionary profile:

Profile -> Dictionary -> New.

Fill a name in Name field and in the section 'Dictionary Entries' select New.

Fill '[\x{1F000}-\x{1FFFF}]' (without the quotes) into the field 'Pattern' and disable 'Search body'. Then Create and Create.

  1. Set the Dictionary profile in an AntiSpam profile by editing an AntiSpam profile.

Enable the Dictionary feature and set the Dictionary profile. Also is possible to set an Action.
