Technical Tip: How to add subdomain in FortiMail Cloud

Description

This article describes how to add subdomain in FortiMail Cloud.

Scope FortiMail.
Solution
  1. Log in to the FortiMail Cloud portal, select the FortiMail Cloud tenant, select 'Action', and 'Manage Domain'.

  1. Select 'New'.

  1. Configure the Email domain.

  1. Ensure the option 'Is subdomain' is enabled and configure which main domain the subdomain belongs to.

  1. Before selecting 'Create' to proceed, add the following token to the domain's DNS TXT record to verify the ownership of the domain.

  1. After the ownership of the email domain is verified, select 'Create'.

 

Domain ownership verification is required each time a new domain is added to a FortiMail Cloud tenant. The time required depends on how quickly updates to the domain’s authoritative DNS server are propagated. For more details, refer to Configuring protected domains.
