Technical Tip: FortiMail Server Mode user mailbox size

Description

This article describes how to define a maximum user mailbox size on a FortiMail unit operating in Server mode.

Scope

FortiMail is operating in Server Mode.

Solution

User mailboxes can be limited to a maximum value by following the instructions below:

1. Create a resource profile specifying the disk quota value to be set and select the checkbox 'user account status' as indicated in the following screenshot.
   
   

2. Create a Recipient-based policy for the range of users that are to be limited and select the resource profile previously created as indicated below:

Note: If the mailbox size reaches the configured disk quota limit, the user will receive a notification.

Note: Also supported the same method in firmware v5.x.x - v6.x.x, v7.x.x.
