Description

This article describes the process of adding a Mail Transfer Agent (MTA) behind FortiMail. The user needs to configure FortiMail to allow the MTA to relay emails.

Scope FortiMail.
Solution

To add a Mail Transfer Agent (MTA) behind FortiMail, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Policy -> Access Control -> Receiving.
  2. Create a new Access Control policy or update any existing Access Control policy for the new MTA's IP address to allow the outbound email from the new MTA to FortiMail.

For inbound email configuration:

  1. Navigate to Domain & User -> Domain -> Domain.
  2. Edit the domain.
  3. Update the SMTP server to the IP address of the new MTA so FortiMail will relay the inbound email to the new MTA.
