Technical Note: Backing Up and Restoring IBE Data

IBE data on the FortiMail is stored as part of the full configuration and cannot be restored separately.
Solution
In order to backup IBE data, a backup of the full configuration is necessary.
To back the configuration with IBE data:
1. Go to Maintenance > System > Configuration.
2. Beside both "User configuration" and "IBE data" click on Update, wait a few seconds, then click on Refresh. Keep periodically clicking on until reaching the option to select both "User configuration" and "IBE data".
3. Select "User configuration" and "IBE data" then back up.
To restore the full configuration, go to Maintenance > System > Configuration, select Restore Configuration and choose the full configuration file.
To back the configuration with IBE data:
1. Go to Maintenance > System > Configuration.
2. Beside both "User configuration" and "IBE data" click on Update, wait a few seconds, then click on Refresh. Keep periodically clicking on until reaching the option to select both "User configuration" and "IBE data".
3. Select "User configuration" and "IBE data" then back up.
To restore the full configuration, go to Maintenance > System > Configuration, select Restore Configuration and choose the full configuration file.
