I am a student currently working on a graduation project with my team. The project involves integrating FortiClient EMS with FortiGate Firewall for strictly educational purposes. Please note that this project is non-commercial and not intended for profit.

We are facing an issue during the process of uploading a certificate to the FortiGate firewall. The error message displayed is:

"Incorrect certificate file format for CA/LOCAL/CRL/REMOTE cert"

Details of the Issue:

  • Certificate Type Used: Security Certificate (.cer)
  • EMS Version: Free trial from your site
  • FortiGate Model and Firmware Version: FortiGate 7.0.13 VMware
