Description This article describes why a FortiGate device may fail to send logs to its (licensed) FortiCloud account, resulting in the FortiCloud status appearing as unreachable.
Scope FortiGate Cloud.
Solution

A FortiGate device is provisioned under a FortiGate Cloud account using the Premium Portal Beta for log storage. This beta portal relies on the FortiAnalyzer Cloud backend for FortiGate Cloud log storage.

If the FortiCloud repeatedly displays the status 'Unreachable', make sure:

  1. FortiCloud registration is successful.
  2. Port 514 is functioning correctly, and:
  3. FortiGuard communications are operational.

If the steps above did not resolve the issue, collect the output of the following CLI debug commands:

Verify account details:

diagnose test application forticldd 1

If account details are correct, collect the output of the following CLI debug commands:

diagnose debug reset
diagnose debug disable
diagnose debug application update -1
diagnose debug enable
execute update-now

It is possible to free upgrade to the new FortiGate Cloud portal through the Fortinet FortiCloud Team. This upgrade resolves issues where FortiCloud displays the status 'Unreachable' on FortiGate.
The new portal provides equivalent log storage features, is actively developed and supported, and replaces the Premium Portal Beta, which has concluded.
