Technical Tip: Cannot activated FortiCloud due to 'Invalid user name or password' or 'Error connecting to FortiCloud'

Description

 

This article describes the cause of not being able to activate FortiGate Cloud with the error:

  • 'Invalid user name or password' in v7.0.10, v7.0.10,v7.2.10 or later version.
  • 'Error connecting to FortiCloud' in v7.2.0,v7.4.0 or later versions.

Scope

 

FortiGate Cloud.

Solution

 

On legacy and current FortiOS, the FortiCloud account should meet the password requirements.

 

  • Minimum 8 Characters
  • Must Contain numbers (0-9)
  • Both uppercase(A-Z) and lowercase (a-z) letters
  • Some Special Characters

Resetting the FortiCloud password can also help in resolving this issue with FortiGate Cloud.
