Troubleshooting Tip: Upgrade scheduling not available - FortiGates without disk storage
| Description | This article describes how to handle an issue where, when attempting to schedule a firmware upgrade in the GUI with immediate or specified schedule, admins may encounter the following message:
|
| Scope | FortiGate v7.6. |
| Solution | During the 'Choose Schedule' step of the firmware upgrade process in the FortiOS GUI, the option to specify a scheduled upgrade is disabled. The affected FortiGate device is listed under the warning message.
Example:
As the error suggests, there is no disk storage on this device, and the error is expected. The presence of a storage disk can be confirmed by issuing the following command:
execute disk list
If a storage disk is not present, the command will have no output. If a storage disk is present an output similar to below will be printed, but will vary by model.
Disk SSD ref: 16 447.1GiB type: SSD [ATA INTEL SSDSC2KB48] dev: /dev/sdb
In addition to the command, the FortiGate model number will normally indicate if a disk is present.
