Troubleshooting Tip: Unable to use the CLI console widget directly within the FortiGate GUI with Edge Browser

This article describes how to resolve the issue of being unable to use the CLI console widget directly within the FortiGate GUI with Edge Browser.

Solution

When using Chrome or Firefox Browsers, users can use the CLI console widget directly within the FortiGate GUI. If it works in other browsers but not Edge, this can mean that the Edge Browser is not up to date.

1. To update Microsoft Edge automatically, restart the Edge browser.

2. To update manually, download the latest version directly from the official Microsoft Edge website and run the installer to refresh the Edge browser. 

When navigating to edge://settings/help in the Edge browser, Microsoft Edge is shown as up to date. The user is able to use the CLI console widget directly within the FortiGate GUI with the Edge Browser now.
