Troubleshooting Tip: Switching the managed FortiAP from old FortiGate to new, and FortiAP is not showing up in the managed FortiAP's GUI

Description

This article describes when FortiAP is not showing up under Managed FortiAP's section in the FortiGate after migrating from an old FortiGate to a new FortiGate.

Scope FortiGate, FortiAP, FortiLan Cloud.
Solution
  1. If FortiAP is already managed using old FortiGate and to manage it with new FortiGate, undeploy the FortiAP from the FortiLan cloud.
  2. In the FortiLan Cloud, Go to the network that has the FortiAP to undeploy.
  3. In Menu bar, select 'Access Points'.
  4. In the Navigation pane, select 'Edit View'.
  5. In the table, locate the FortiAP to undeploy. At the end of that row, select on the ;Actions tab; and select undeploy or select the Edit Configuration tab and select undeploy from Network.
    1. Select 'Yes'.
  6. Make sure Security Fabric Connection is enabled under Network -> Interfaces -> Select an interface ->Administrative access -> Security Fabric Connection.

  1. Restart the FortiAP.
