| Solution | If the web-filter security profile is configured to allow only specific websites and deny all others, as shown in the screenshot below:
   The (*) entry at the bottom denies all remaining traffic, which also blocks the Edge new tab from loading. The error screenshot is shown below:
   In the developer console, the URL ntp.msn.com was being denied, causing the search bar to display edge://newtab and showing the error NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID.
The new tab should be opened in the Edge browser:
