Troubleshooting Tip: FortiGate interface speed cannot be configured on FortiManager

Description This article describes how to configure interface speed on FortiGate as it can't be configured on FortiManager.
Scope FortiManager, FortiGate.
Solution

In FortiManager, the default value of 'system interface speed' is complex, which depends on the FortiGate platform, specified interface and/or config.


FortiManager currently does not support installing this configuration.

 

When using 'auto' only as the default speed, this will cause an installation failure.

 

The solution is marking the 'system interface speed' attribute as read-only on the FortiManager side.

 

To solve this issue, we can apply either of the below:

 

  • Configure interface speed on the FortiGate side. FortiManager can keep this config in the DB from auto update or after retrieval, but will not install it.
  • Apply a script run on a remote device, then auto-update the FortiManager device DB.
