Troubleshooting Tip: FortiGate GUI dashboard not available in Spanish language

Description

This article describes how to handle an issue where the FortiGate GUI dashboard is not available in the Spanish language after a firmware upgrade to v8.0.0. The user is unable to view the dashboard and receives an error message.

Solution

When opening the GUI on a FortiGate device running v8.0.0 the following error is displayed:

To resolve this issue, change the language to English (by default).

This can be done by opening the GUI and selecting the language option:

1. Go to System -> Settings.

2. Select Language and choose 'English' as the default language.

3. Select 'Apply' to save the changes.

After changing the language to English, the GUI dashboard should be available. Note that some GUI options may not be available in other languages due to translation or language special characters.
