Description This article describes the troubleshooting steps to undertake when FortiAPs are not seen in FortiGate or SSIDs are not broadcasting after upgrading the FortiGate to version 7.4.x.
Scope FortiGate and FortiAP.
Solution

After upgrading the FortiGate to version 7.4.x, FortiAPs are not seen under WIFI Controller -> Managed FortiAPs on FortiGate, and they are not broadcasting the SSID. This happens to FortiAP 221C, 321C, and so on. This is due to incompatibility between the FortiAP and the FortiOS. These FortiAPs do not support version 7.4.x, as stated in the Compatibility Matrix

The support for the WTP profiles for the models that are old like FortiAP B, C, and D series models, and FortiAP-S models are removed from the v7.4.x. This means these FortiAPs are no longer supported after v7.4.x as stated in the v7.4 release article Remove WTP profiles for older FortiAP models

The solution is to downgrade the FortiGate to any of the supported versions based on the Compatibility Matrix.
