Troubleshooting Tip: Error 'Connecting to FortiCloud' or 'HTTP 400' when logging into FortiCloud from FortiGate

Description

 

This article describes when an error message is received ('Connecting to FortiCloud' or 'HTTP 400') whilst trying to log into FortiCloud from FortiGate.

 

Scope

 

FortiGate.


Solution

 

This problem may occur when the FortiCloud account's password is more than 20 characters.  In FortiGate, an error message 'HTTP 400'  is displayed, and login to FortiCloud fails as follows:

Note:

To troubleshoot, run the following command to collect the debug log:

 

diagnose debug reset
diagnose debug console timestamp enable
diagnose debug application forticldd -1
diagnose debug enable 

 

To stop the debug run, follow the command:

 

diagnose debug disable


FortiCloud account password must be less than 20 characters in length. A password reset is required to fix this issue.
