Troubleshooting Tip: Command 'diagnose hardware deviceinfo psu' not working on Fortigates after FortiOS 7.6.3

Description This article describes the technical reasons why 'diagnose hardware deviceinfo psu' is no longer present on devices that do not have removable power-supplies from FortiOS 7.6.3 onward.
Scope FortiGate
Solution

The following command fails when run on the FortiGate:

FortiGate-200G # diagnose hardware deviceinfo psu

command parse error before 'psu'
Command fail. Return code -61

In the example above , the command fails as the FortiGate 200G does not have removable power-supplies, but instead only contain multiple AC inputs to the internal power-supply. This approach is used on other SOC3/SOC4/SP5 platforms that contain dual-inputs. The above command was previously available prior to FortiOS 7.6.3 due to a firmware bug and it's removal is intentional and expected for devices that do not have removable power supply units.

For devices that contain dual power inputs but not removable PSU's , use  'execute sensor list' instead to display PSU status.

FortiGate-200G # execute sensor list
[HW monitor sensors]
1 PSU [1] ....................... OK
2 PSU [2] ....................... LOST
