Description This article describes how to fix an issue that leads to the 'Cannot mount directory /tmp/snmp/jail/proc, errno No space left on device' error in SNMPD debug output.
Scope FortiOS, SNMP.
Solution

When SNMP is configured on FortiGate, the following messages may appear in the SNMPD debug output (see Troubleshooting Tip: How to use snmpd debug to troubleshoot SNMP).

Cannot mount directory /tmp/snmp/jail/proc, errno No space left on device

snmpd: SNMPD failed to enter jail.

snmpd: shutdown

If disk logging is enabled, to resolve this issue, run the following command:

execute formatlogdisk

Note: This will force the FortiGate device to reboot.
