Description This article describes how to configure an automation stitch to trigger email alerts on WAN link fluctuations.
Scope FortiGate.
Solution

When configuring an automation stitch to enable email alerts for WAN link fluctuations or status changes (UP/DOWN), the configuration may not function as expected if the FortiOS event log uses a boolean 'AND' operator, as this can misinterpret the separate 'DOWN' and 'UP' events.

To receive email alerts for both WAN link status changes, UP and DOWN, separate automation stitches must be configured: one for 'WAN link status = UP' and another for 'WAN link status = DOWN'.

 

This ensures that both events trigger alerts to the designated email address for appropriate action. See the attachment below:
