Troubleshooting Tip: Activating or renewing new FortiClient licenses on ForiOS 5.4 and earlier

All new Forticlient licenses can be activated only on FortiOS 5.6 and later.

If Fortigate is running an earlier version, it should be upgraded. The license will be automatically activated from Fortiguard servers after the upgrade and there is no need to import a license file.

In HA scenario, all units in the cluster should have a license.
