Technical Tip: Windows store FortiClient does not show DNS server IP in the Windows SSLVPN adapter
Description
This article describes why the DNS server IP is not visible in the windows store FortiClient sslvpn adapter.
Solution
The windows store app is limited by the Microsoft, hence, is not the same as FortiClient standalone client.
The store app uses the framework Microsoft provided, has no driver, and the GUI is limited by Microsoft and its services, it is more suitable for Windows phone (which does not exist anymore) or restricted Windows like Windows 10.
When using the Microsoft Store Forticlient, it creates a new 'PPP Adapter' and it do not receive the DNS servers configuration, instead the clients uses the ones configured at its end.
In 'PPP Adapter' NETBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled, which is disabled using the vendor client.
