Technical Tip: Using FortiConverter to convert configuration files from other vendors to FortiGate
Description
This article describes the current functionality of the FortiConverter GUI Tool. A tool designed to assist in the conversion of alternative firewall configuration statements so as to conform to the FortiOS command line syntax used on all FortiGate ranges of network security appliances.
It is important to note that this tool will not be able to take a complete configuration file from another vendor and perform a full configuration translation. The reasons for this are many, notably but not restricted to the conflicting syntax and interface-level dependencies.
However, the tool will reduce the workload and minimize errors when performing such translations, which are frequently required in the migration to a FortiGate solution.
