Technical Tip: Understanding SNMP Limitations in FortiGate for External Threat Feed

| Solution | Go under System -> SNMP, download the FortiGate MIB File, and download the FortiGate Core MIB File.
In the MIB tool, open the MIB file downloaded from FortiGate. Post that try to search external threat feed and it will not be available. Paessler MIB Importer tool can be used to view the OID value.
Note: Currently, it is not possible to use the external threat feed for SNMP monitoring. This article is not about threat feed , it gives clarification about threat feed issue with SNMP servers which is not supported. A simple threat feed can be created with a normal text file containing the URLs or domain entries. |
